Adam Sandler’s New Netflix Drama “Hustle”
Adam Sandler's new Netflix movie features a great cast of characters including big Hollywood actors and professional NBA players.
Netflix's latest streaming hit is Hustle, a 2022 comedy-drama starring Adam Sandler. The story revolves around Sandler's character Stanley Sugarman, a professional basketball scout for the Philidelphia 76ers. It depicts Sugarman's nomadic lifestyle in search of a potential NBA star and juxtaposes that with what he truly yearns for: a more settled life with his family as an assistant coach for the team. Sugarman has to overcome many obstacles to reach his own goals and simultaneously help those around him, and his methods for doing so embody the characteristics of an entrepreneur.
No matter how much the movie seems like a true story, the film is fiction. Despite this, Hustle contains dozens of sports cameos, with performances from NBA stars including Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson, and LeBron James serves as a producer.
Which NBA players are in Hustle?
As seen in the trailer, the Philadelphia 76ers feature heavily in the film with Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, and Matisse Thybulle appearing alongside former 76er Boban Marjanović.
Marjanović is quickly making a name for himself on the big screen. He also appeared opposite Keanu Reaves as the world's tallest bad guy in the 2019 film John Wick 3.
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young, Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson, Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton, Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry and Brooklyn Nets guard Seth Curry also appear in the film.
The performance that has everyone talking is that of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, who is perfectly cast as the slick-talking villain.
